Quentin final images

QUENTIN FINAL IMAGES

For Quentin i mixes skin base with the lightest shade of foundation to create a pale/cold face. I have also created three wounds on the forehead, right cheek and neck using supra palette, latex and fake blood. I have also added black lips and black eye shadow to add a dark and mysterious atmosphere to the character and to make Quentin appear to be a vampire. I brought some red rope and tied it around the neck to symbolise how Quentin is being suffocated by Claudia's orders.

CLAUDIA FINAL IMAGES

Claudia - Witch of the woods
For Claudia i used a natural shade of foundation and enhanced the cheek bones with bronzer to give of a dramatic serious look. I decided to use black as it is dark, evil and mysterious. I winged out the eye liner and applied black lipstick as i felt this made Claudia appear much more riveting and frightening. I decided to shoot Claudia in the woods as i have made this character a witch of this environment and have used a thick black fury cloak to add a mystery as you can't tell much about what is behind this character as she is hidden and blends well with the woodland.

Powerpoint Presentation

POWERPOINT PRESENTATION -

Within this task we were asked to create a power point presentation based on a gothic horror televisions program. I decided to do mine on The vampire diaries as i felt this one would engage me the most as it is appealing to my age group.

My two characters were Claudia and Quentin. Claudia being a witch of the woods and Quentin being a servant to Claudia obeying her every order and who is afraid of his master.

FINAL OUTCOME - ESTELLA

Profile shot-

For Estella i have left the makeup natural as i wanted her to appear elegant, sophisticated and classy. Leaving with her natural eye shadows colours such as light and dark brown, slightly added a light pink colour onto the cheeks and have used a natural colour onto the lips. For the hair i  have section the front pieces of the hair and have  barley curled. I have also barley curled the whole of the back of the head and used booby pins to place the hair at the centre back of the head. To assessorize this look i went to my local craft store and placed several flowers around the curls. I love the way my work has came out  as i feel it fits the character of Estella well.

Hair - For this design i curled the entire head all the way around making sur eno pieces were left at the bottom or sides. i then sectioned the hair into three sections. top, middle and bottom. on each section i grabbed the hair from either side and brushed through to make it smooth, i then placed the curls in the centre of the head making the curls only go down the middle of the head. I did this for each section however when it comes to my assignment i found using a damp comb or hairspray helps to smoothen out the sides instead of the messy, un neat look in the photographs below. I added many tiny flowers spreader around the curls to make my design much more appealing and elegant.

Makeup -

Overall, i am not happy with the way my makeup look came out. It is far too heavy and gives of the wrong atmosphere and emotion i wanted to give of. I am going to change my design to a much more simplistic bare faced natural look. Using a warmth tone of foundation instead of pale, and very little eye makeup to keep the eyes bright and fresh and a natural colour on the lips and cheeks.

ESTELLA HAIRSTYLE

My inspirational image which led me onto my final design -

My final design practice -

This is a hairstyle i am planning to improve and eventually use as my Estella look. I feel this hairstyle will work well as it is elegant soft ad girly which is what i want my Estella to look like when it comes to my final outcome from my assessment. I have sectioned the hair and curled each section. I have then went on to pin the curls at the centre of the head going down. For the timed assessment i am going to place 6-10 tiny flowers around the curls to make the hairstyle much more pretty, elegant and sophisticated which was what you saw Estella to be in the film and what Charles Dickens made Estella to appear in the book as she has boys under her finger by her charming good looks.

Evaluation - This is my final image for my second look of Estella. I made a folder with all of the original images from the first shoot to follow and made notes or which way i curled the hair. Making sure each individual url was the exact same as the previous time. I then fractioned the hair into a grid of 9 sections to make sure i placed the braid and bun in the same place. I found this method very helpful as it made my look much more precise and helped with continuity.
